Nestled discreetly around back in the cozy alleyway at B2 111 1st Street East on Lolo Lane in North Vancouver, Cream Pony is a charming and slightly hidden gem that perfectly blends the indulgent pleasures of a donut shop with the savory satisfaction of a fried chicken takeaway. This unique fusion spot invites locals and visitors alike into a world where sweet meets spicy, crispy meets soft, and comfort food is reinvented with a bold, playful twist.
At Cream Pony, the culinary experience is centered on two standout cravings: irresistibly soft, fresh donuts and mouthwatering Cajun-style fried chicken sandwiches. Their assorted selection of doughnuts offers irresistible varieties such as the classic glazed donut with a perfectly shiny and delicate sweetness, the rich Chocolate Dip Donut, the zesty Lemon Cake Donut, and the indulgent Chicken Foot Donut—an inventive nod to combining their famous fried chicken with doughnut artistry. Customers rave about the Chicken Foot Doughnut, a genius creation that harmonizes the salty, juicy crunch of their fried chicken with a lightly sweetened doughnut, evoking moments reminiscent of chicken and waffles but with a creative spin you won’t find anywhere else.
The fried chicken sandwiches steal the show with their bright Cajun spices, tender and juicy chicken encased in a light, crisp batter, all nestled inside perfectly soft potato buns. Signature offerings like the OG Fried Chicken Sandwich, Chipotle Chicken, and the Classic Chicken Sandwich deliver layers of smoky, spicy, and tangy flavors that dance on your palate with every bite. The house specialty sandwiches—particularly the Cajun Chicken and OG Sandwich—showcase just how expertly Cream Pony balances seasoning and texture, from the crunchy exterior of the chicken to the fresh, flavorful accompaniments within. Fans champion the heat and boldness of the Hot Nash variant, a fiery treat for those craving a spicy kick.
For sides, Cream Pony adds the perfect complements to your meal: crispy tots providing that crave-worthy crunch, the refreshingly tangy Cowboy Caesar loaded with fried capers and pickled onions, and the delightfully addictive Deep Fried Pickles, battered and fried to golden perfection. The thoughtful drink menu featuring Homemade Lemonade and Sweet Tea rounds out the meal with refreshing balance.
The dining atmosphere echoes the duality of this concept perfectly—intimate, welcoming, and filled with character. With limited seating for about 10 guests, it’s the kind of place where you come for a fast yet fulfilling bite, yet linger to soak in the friendly vibes and aesthetic touches that make it feel like a hidden neighborhood secret. While its alleyway location might present a fun little treasure hunt for first-timers, the payoff is undeniable once you’re settled in and the first bite hits your taste buds.
Feedback from patrons highlights the authenticity and passion behind each dish. Daniel Serrano captured the magic perfectly: “An absolutely delicious glazed donut with a perfectly fried, juicy, crunchy Cajun style chicken... a symphony of love in the portable style of chicken and waffles.” Meanwhile, Lisa Lebans praises the generous sandwich portions and unique spice blends that keep her coming back, and Jeff Jay points out the melt-away tenderness of the chicken paired with the comfortingly simple yet satisfying burger construction.
Cream Pony is more than just a place to grab a quick bite—it’s where culinary creativity meets heartfelt Southern-inspired comfort food. It’s where the humble doughnut and fried chicken sandwich are elevated into artful, crave-worthy treats that delight every sense.
Whether you are a donut lover eager to try innovative, handmade creations or a fried chicken aficionado searching for a new favourite local spot, Cream Pony offers an unforgettable, flavor-packed experience that’s worth navigating a quieter city alley to find.

@mealsoflegend: @creampony serves an absolutely delicious glazed donut with a perfectly fried, juicy, crunchy cajun style chicken. This meal couldn’t be more perfect. The acidity of the pickles, the sweetness of the glaze and the saltiness of the chicken. A symphony of love in the portable style of chicken and waffles. But chicken and donuts. Washed down with a pint of lager by also delicious local brewery @streetcarbrewing #friedchicken #donuts #vancouver
The interior design and aesthetic is so pretty , I absolutely love it. Staff is friendly - the doughnuts were just ok , a little bit too sweet for me but they are doughnuts after all just more prefer easy sugar like Goldie’s . , I enjoyed the cream filled one that I had. And has a bite of the maple one which was amazing. I will come back to try some of their chicken!
Never would of discovered this place - until a friend suggested to go here while we were checking out the Christmas market nearby. Wasn't able to try the sweet donuts this time - However, the chicken burger was so delicious for something that looks so simple and basic. Chicken was melt away tender, could definitely have improved the batter volume a tad though , as it lacked some much needed crunch. The sweet tea was also very nice - super refreshing with a good balance of sweet and tea!
Chicken sandwiches are amazing, donuts are even better! Small place, but enough for about 10 people to sit. You definitely want to eat the chicken hot. The hot Nash was HOT! Enjoyed it, but I think I might drizzle next time instead of dunk. The spice combination is truly unique. I could not believe the size of the sandwiches! I only wish you could make a chicken/donut combo instead of the other savory sides. The donuts were just perfection, can't wait to try more flavours. Will definitely be back.
We finally made it! My partner and I love chicken sandos so of course we had to try one @ Cream Pony. The highlight was the juicy chicken - YUM! Light batter, tasty sauce, and we love a potato bun. The restaurant is a little tricky to find for first timers so definitely pay attention to the details in their Google description! It is alley-facing, with parking right outside. While we were there the restaurant had a really strong oil smell, maybe just coincidence? Overall we were happy to finally try Cream Pony! Next time - doughnuts!!
I have been working on the area for quite a few years and have tried their donuts a few times. The apple fritter is absolutely my favorite. I originally wanted to order the lunch bag special ($17)online and do a pickup, but got confused when they had to charge $.50 more for the bun, but when I got to the store the menu said $17.50. Overall the experience was good. A little bit of a wait when I ordered there, so next time I would order ahead. The Cajun chicken burger was spicy (it wasn't just a little kick for me). Next time I would try the classic. The chicken in the burger was huuuger, with a big slice of cheese and a jalapeño. I got the half and half lemonade/iced tea, which was refreshing. Also came with a donut, I chose the apple fritter. All for $17.50! I thought it was quite reasonable. Lady there was super nice as well. Would want to go back and try other stuff as well.
Absolutely obsessed with Cream Pony in North Van! This place is a total gem. The donuts are next level, fresh, fluffy, and super creative with their flavors. We tried a couple (okay… maybe more than a couple), and every single one was amazing. The fried chicken was also a surprise hit, crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. Perfect combo with the sweet treats. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the whole vibe of the place is fun and laid-back. Whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee and donut or staying for a full on comfort food feast, it’s a must-visit. Definitely worth the hype!
